4 Bedroom Colors Trends For 2022
Color may have a significant impact on not only how your home looks, but also how it feels. This effect is especially essential in the bedroom, where the main aims are rest and relaxation. Certain colors can help create a relaxing, comfortable ambiance, perfect for throwing your feet up in the evenings or drifting off to sleep.
"Your bedroom is your refuge," explains Hawaii-based designer Shaolin Low of Studio Shaolin. "While the rest of the home may be full of color and pattern, the bedrooms tend to be more muted and neutral." That doesn't mean you have to abandon color altogether. The goal is to use colors that calm rather than stimulate, and the most recent bedroom paint color trends are all about obtaining that calm effect. These bedroom color trends for 2022 will help you create a lovely space, whether you favor neutrals or more intense hues.
WHAT IS THE NEW COLOR TREND IN BEDROOMS FOR 2022?
'For 2022, we've moved away from dark charcoals and toward warmer natural tones, such as deep reddish browns and terracotta, which are bold and understated but achingly trendy,' explains Joa Studholme, color expert at Farrow & Ball. 'Incredibly elegant by day and cozy by night, they create a grounded but sumptuous ambience that is both thought-provoking and comforting, especially when mixed with other natural tones.'
'We seek warm tones that will enrich our homes and create pleasant sanctuaries away from the outside world in these trying times.' The use of luxurious colors like red in the spaces we use at the end of the day, when we most want to relax and feel comfortable, may give luxury to even the most neutral of palettes.'
'We have seen a tremendous trend in colors that make your bedroom a tranquil and welcoming area that you can come to after a long day at work,' says Natasha Bradley, Lick Home Color & Interiors Expert. As more people want to strike a balance between their job and personal lives.'
One of the most common hues for bedrooms is blue. It has a calming influence on the mind and body due to its proximity to the sky and the sea, which may instantly soothe anyone. Don't be scared to experiment with different shades. Painting your ceiling in a dark blue helps your body to generate a chemical that makes you feel calm.
Green is another soothing color that is always popular in bedrooms. It is said to help individuals feel rejuvenated and closer to nature as it settles on the eyes.
1. Black ink
Black is one of the most popular bedroom color trends for 2022, according to Low, and it's "a shocking color since it has such a strong presence." When used correctly, though, this dark neutral may provide a room a warm, intimate vibe while also adding refinement to lighter color schemes. To add depth and drama to your bedroom, use black as an all-over paint color or as an accent.
2. White
White bedrooms are having a return, according to designers, despite the fact that this neutral is more timeless than trendy. "We rarely had white paint requests prior to this trend," says Ashley Grech of Thirteen Oak, a San Francisco-based interior design firm, noting that many of her clients previously thought of the tint as "cold and sterile." Softer colors of white are now in high demand for a light, airy, and totally classic effect. Look for a white paint color that has slight yellow or red overtones to add depth and gentleness.
3. Blue and Green
Dark, dark colors may feel too weighty for large communal areas like living rooms, yet they provide a soothing and relaxing impact in a bedroom. This is especially true with natural-inspired colors like blues and greens, which are a hot color trend this year. To create a snug, stylish refuge, paint your bedroom a deep shade of blue or a rich forest green.
4. Neutrals that are warm
Bedroom color trends, according to Low, are leaning toward warm-toned neutrals like browns and tans. Shades that veer toward peach or terra-cotta can help you embrace this warm style even more. These hues are extremely attractive when paired with natural materials and textures.

WHAT IS THE MOST RECENT BEDROOM BEDDING TREND?
People are starting to invest in the greatest mattress, mattress topper, and quality bedding, which Natasha Bradley always recommends to her clients. 'It's the most significant aspect of a bedroom — you spend half your time in bed, so investing in these goods is critical – or your sleep will suffer!'
'There is clearly a tendency towards relaxed bedding and comfortable sheets,' says Gordon Duff & Linton's Gemma Gordon Duff. 'Linen, organic bedding, and thick wool throws are all very popular right now, and they help to create a sense of seclusion.'
IS GREY IN BEDROOMS STILL IN STYLE IN 2022?
Grey bedroom ideas are still very popular, but as we spend more time at home, we've begun to experiment with warmer neutrals, particularly in the bedroom.
Grey, according to Tiffany Duggan, has come and gone: 'We adore color, so a completely grey palette has never been our thing.' We like neutrals as well, but prefer warmer hues like soft buttery whites, bones, and plaster tones. Grey-based greens and blues are gorgeous, and they're a great foil for brighter, more striking patterns and colors, but the chilly, commercial greys of the last decade appear to be losing favor.'
Grey tones, on the other hand, will never go out of style because they are so easy to work with,' adds Natasha Bradley. 'They provide you a basic color from which you may add other colors like greens and blues.'
However, selecting the proper greys for your home is critical, as you don't want to fall into the trap of choosing a grey colour that makes your home feel drab and lifeless. When the proper shade of grey is used, though, it can make a space feel warm and elegant. A grey color with a warm undertone of gentle green can add character and color to your space.'
WHAT ARE THE 2022 BEDROOM TRENDS?
Emma Deterding, Founder and Creative Director of Kelling Designs and KD Loves, recommends, "The bedroom should be a peaceful haven in which to rest and recoup."
'Where subdued, neutral tones were formerly trendy, we are now seeing a major shift away from minimalist interior schemes, with clients taking more risks with their design choices.' Clients want to incorporate personality into their homes, and this is no different in the bedroom, with statement wallpaper and inventive wall finishes such as polished plaster, as well as bright and colorful fabrics and bed linen.'
'Headboards are making a comeback, with big, dramatic shapes in bright colors and patterned textiles being popular. It's all about establishing a focal point and making a strong statement, and an upholstered headboard will allow you to do just that while also being comfy and useful.
'We're seeing an increase in clients choosing higher, curved headboards and mixing them with rich patterns and colors to anchor their interior design concept,' Emma explains. 'Bold tones can be just as relaxing as muted tints,' says the author.
Rich reds and oranges, mustard yellows, and strong greens are key hues, with blues remaining popular for a classic, timeless design. Nature-inspired motifs are also a must-have, with floral and foliage prints bringing a touch of the outdoors within.'
'When it comes to design, we're also heading toward more customization. 'Bespoke, fitted bedsides with integrated power outlets and wireless charging provide storage for the basic goods individuals need close at hand.'
